Jazz-Index, compiled by Jazz-Institut Darmstadt, 24. Januar
1998
-----------------------------------------------------------

The following bibliographical information relates to periodicals and books present in the archive of the Jazz- Institut Darmstadt. Our extensive periodical collection comprises more than 700 periodicals, more than 40.000 single issues. About 40-50 % of the collection have been indexed.

Following the more recent entries you'll find abbreviations which will give you a clue about the nature in the respective articles. The abbreviations are:

[A] = analytical remarks
[B] = extensive book review
[BT] = blindfold test
[C] = concert review
[D] = discography
[F] = feature article
[I] = interview
["I"] = article written by the respective musician himself
[R] = extensive record review
[T] = transcription

If you need xerocopies of any of these articles, you should first try to contact a library near you. We copy only small orders -- up to 5 articles per order. We do not copy any articles published before 1970. Melody Maker are generally not copied. These restrictions have conservatory reasons.

We have to ask the municipal fee for any xerocopies -- at the moment 0,50 DM per copy. We will also ask you for reimboursement of postage -- usually 3,- DM, more for air-mail service. Any copies have to be ordered only in writing or by fax -- no e-mail yet --, giving the exact bibliographical data: author, title, periodical, year/month, pages. We will send you an invoice together with the copies.
